The equipment a traffic control company brings to a site is as important as the people operating it. An arrow board that fails on a freeway or a crash truck that is not MASH compliant can put crews and the travelling public at risk. Salus Traffic invests in a modern fleet that is inspected, maintained, and deployed to Ontario specifications on every project.

SALUS TRAFFIC FLEET AND ASSETS
CRASH TRUCKS AND ATTENUATORS
Truck-mounted attenuators absorb rear-end impacts and protect crews working in or near live traffic. Our crash trucks are equipped with MASH compliant attenuators suitable for use on Ontario freeways, arterials, and expressways. Each unit includes the arrow board, lighting, and communication equipment needed for mobile operations, short-duration stationary work, and high-speed lane closures. Operators are trained on placement rules from Book 7, including roll-ahead distance, lateral offset, and positioning relative to the work area.
Traffic Control Vehicles
Our traffic control vehicle fleet supports flagging crews, sign installers, and supervisory staff across Ontario. Every vehicle carries the standard complement of cones, barricades, signs, roll-up signs, and communication equipment needed to set up and maintain a work zone. Supervisor vehicles include additional equipment for response to unplanned events such as sign knockdowns or weather-related changes to the layout. Vehicles are equipped with flashing beacons, arrow displays on selected units, and the graphics required by municipal and MTO standards.
Pavement Marking Equipment
Pavement marking work requires specialized trucks and applicators that a general traffic control company often does not have in-house. Salus Traffic operates line striping trucks for waterborne and alkyd paint, thermoplastic applicators, hand liners for intersection work and detail markings, surface preparation equipment including sweepers and air blowers, and the support vehicles needed to keep a marking operation moving. Our equipment handles both large corridor work and small intersection jobs.
Arrow Boards and Message Boards
Arrow boards and portable message boards are core to lane closures and detour communications. Our fleet includes trailer-mounted arrow boards with the display modes required by Book 7, truck-mounted arrow boards on crash trucks, full-matrix portable message boards with solar power and cellular connectivity, and character-matrix message boards for straightforward messaging. Units are inspected before each deployment and charged or programmed as required.
SIGN INSTALLATION VEHICLES
Our sign installation fleet includes augering trucks for post driving, lift trucks for overhead and large sign installations, sign shop vehicles stocked with the hardware inventory needed for a typical install day, and utility vehicles for quick response calls to replace damaged signs. Crews carry Ontario One Call documentation and the tools needed to complete installations in a single site visit wherever possible.
